Canadian Football League Week #6
Toronto, ON – (August 06, 2008) – Ricky Ray, Jonathan Brown, Dominique Dorsey, and Ben Cahoon were named the CFL’s top players for week #6, the Canadian Football League announced today.
Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB – Ricky Ray – Edmonton Eskimos
BC Lions 24 @ Edmonton Eskimos 35
Highlights / Key Stats:
Ricky Ray went 23/30 (76.7%) for a league leading 392 yards and two touchdowns leading the Edmonton Eskimos to a 35-24 win over the BC Lions at Commonwealth Stadium. Ray also ran the ball six times for 18 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the game with a passer efficiency rating of 142.6.
Ricky Ray is 139/210 for the season throwing for 1,953 yards and eight touchdowns with only three interceptions. He has also run the ball 31 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Ray has a passer efficiency of 102.8.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Jonathan Brown had his best game of the season as he recorded
two sacks and a tackle for a loss in the Toronto Argonauts 19-11
victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The 11 points that the Argos
gave up was the second lowest total any team has given up this season.
Jonathan Brown has 19 tackles and four sacks this season for the Argonauts.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Dominique Dorsey returned a punt 94 yards for a touchdown, helping the Argos to their third victory of the season. In Week 6, Dorsey led all CFL players in kick return yardage with 241 yards, including 142 yards on six punt returns.
This is Dorsey’s second player of the week award through six weeks. He leads the CFL with 382 punt return yards and is third with 515 kickoff return yards. His 1,233 combined yards is also tops in the league.

Ben
Cahoon led the league with nine receptions in Week 6. Cahoon amassed 89
yards, including six first downs. Cahoon’s longest catch was a 26 yards
which led to a Kerry Watkins touchdown.
Ben Cahoon has 27 catches for 314 yards and two touchdowns this season, including 22 catches in his last three games.
