CALGARY -- Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import linebacker Rod Davis has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In other transactions, the Stampeders have released import defensive lineman Anwar Stewart and import receiver/kick returner Jason Armstead.
Davis is a four-year CFL veteran who recorded 35 tackles, four special-teams tackles, five sacks, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions in 16 games for the Montreal Alouettes in 2012.
The Gulfport, Miss., native spent the first three seasons of his CFL career in Edmonton and registered 149 tackles, 22 special-teams tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and five interceptions in 41 regular-season games for the Eskimos.
