EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Eskimos have lost their all-star linebacker JC Sherritt who is out indefinitely with a broken left thumb vs. Hamilton two weeks ago.
Sherrit underwent surgery during the bye week.
The Eastern Washington product has recorded 37 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles and one quarterback sack in six games this season.
Last year, Sherritt set a CFL record with 130 defensive tackles on his way to being named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
UPDATE - 4:00pm ET: CFL.ca's Dave Campbell tweeted that Sherritt's timetable to return will be anywhere between 2-6 weeks.
