VANCOUVER -- A night after one rookie running back had a miserable debut, Ticats tailback DeAndra’ Cobb exploded onto the CFL scene against the BC Lions on Friday night.

Cobb accounted for 175-yards from scrimmage including 100 yards rushing and 75 yards through the air including a spectacular 48-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the visiting Tabbies.

Cobb’s emergence onto the scene is a story in itself. The 5-foot-10 Michigan State grad was discovered at a tryout camp held by the Ticats earlier this year. He entered training camp well down the Hamilton depth chart, behind the likes of veterans Tre Smith and Kenton Keith.

However, a series of injuries to Keith, Smith and Terry Caulley opened the door for Cobb on Friday night. And he made the most of his opportunity.

Cobb is the feature of the CFL.ca Spotlight for his efforts on Friday night.
