CALGARY -- Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel announced today the re-signing of import defensive back Jamar Wall. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Wall, who had been eligible to become a free agent on Feb. 15, was the Stampeders’ co-leader with four interceptions in 2013 despite playing just 12 regular-season games.

In his second season with the team, Wall recorded 41 tackles, two pass knockdowns and two fumble recoveries. On special teams, Wall blocked a punt

during an Oct. 18 game in Edmonton, recovered the loose ball and carried it 19 yards for a touchdown.

The 26-year-old product of Lubbock, Tex., started the Western Final and recorded three tackles, one special-teams tackle, one pass knockdown and one fumble recovery which he returned 43 yards. He has started games at both cornerback and halfback with the Stampeders.
“Jamar is a versatile player who has become an important part of our secondary over the past two seasons,” said Hufnagel. “I’m pleased to get him under contract and look forward to seeing him continue to improve.”
In 25 career regular-season games with Calgary, Wall has accumulated 74 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, five pass knockdowns and two fumble recoveries.
“I’m very happy to be back with the Stampeders,” said Wall. “We had a great team last year with great chemistry and I think we have a chance to be even better this coming season. I can’t wait to get things going again.”

Wall is an important, versatile piece to help fill the void of Brooks leaving (to NFL - New Orleans).

Hopefully Randle gets re-signed as well.
