TORONTO -- Ricky Ray, Tyron Brackenridge, Tim Brown and Marc-Olivier Brouillette were named the Gibson’s Finest Players of the Week for Week 8 of the 2013 Canadian Football League season.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges including: former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 8. Ray was near perfect by completing 30-of-35 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns in the Argonauts victory over the Edmonton Eskimos, 36-33.
Ray, the all-time completion percentage leader at Sacramento State, threw three touchdowns to three different receivers in the game and also had a rush for five yards.
Ray started the game completing his first 17 passes, flirting with the record of 22 consecutive completions to start a game, which is held by current Argos receivers coach Jason Maas.
Currently, Ray is second in passing yards with 1,768 yards, second in touchdown passes (14) and is first amongst starting quarterbacks with 78.1 completion percentage and a 133.0 quarterback rating.
This is Ray’s second CFL Offensive Player of the Week this season, his first coming in week 1.
