TORONTO -- Both Zach Collaros and Drew Willy have found new homes and new responsibilities heading into the 2014 season, but will any of them discover new success?

If free agency has proved anything this off-season, it's that the 2014 season will be an intriguing one for young quarterbacks - especially for Collaros and Willy.

Between the two, Collaros is the more seasoned pivot. Seasoned as in, he's had far more opportunity to establish himself as a number one quarterback. In his two-year career, Collaros has thrown 298 passes, completing 190 of them for 2,316 yards and 14 touchdown passes.

He's also proven that he can win games, as made evident by his five wins in seven starts last year.

Willy, meanwhile, hasn't had the chance to truly convince people that he's the real deal. Last season saw him throw just 52 passes, bringing his career total up to 147.

But he did show some signs of being a legitimate number one passer, throwing four touchdowns compared to just one interception in two starts.

The pair will also be going into situations where there will be no shortage of talent at receiver.

In Hamilton, Collaros will be throwing to the likes of Andy Fantuz, Bakari Grant, Cary Koch, Greg Ellingson, and Sam Giguere. Willy, on the other hand, will be heaving passes to Nick Moore, Cory Watson, Clarence Denmark, Aaron Kelly, and Rory Kohlert.

That said, who will have the better 2014 season with their new team?

Both should be successful. With Kent Austin's guidance Collaros may start out the gate faster but the Bombers should be mush improved and with Willy getting full time playing time as the season goes along he should do just fine.

Willy had better "bulk up" or he won't last a season starting.
Light weight will not withstand the hits, simple as that!

neither!! willy will have some success BUT with a new coaching staff, players in and players out as the BBs re-building continues in the west this season!! as for collaros and his new team the hamilton tiger cats they will as so often happens when everyone expects a big break out season actually take a step or two back in the eastern conference!! last season led by QB HB the cats were just extremely lucky to have reached the GC!! now with collaros the faithful will be adding pressure by expecting him to lead them to a GC return and a win this time BUT are they being realistic?!! 2 much 2 fast for collaros the new tony the tiger!!

The question was NOT who would have an outstanding year but which one might have a better year. One of them most likely will do better than the other. Guess we'll just wait and see! Oh by the way - are you not expecting the Als to take a run for the Grey Cup this season - most fans will want their team to be there!

@TFmcb: I understood the question BUT you missed my answer!! NEITHER!! both will have good, bad and so so games and one won't be head and shoulders above the other one!! 50-50 as 2 which will be better then the other for the reasons I've listed in both my comments!! as for the als I expect a play-off berth with a home p/off game and if that means a GC run 2 you then so be it!!

Collaros, of course, since most of the team around him has already had year with this coaching staff and offense, he has Austin, a former QB who has established himself as a winning coach, as his HC and he has shown an ability to win in tough situations. @McBoyes - Don't you know that many Rider fans will skew pretty much any poll if it involves their team, or in this case, a former player who has moved on with their blessing?

Not sure why Collaros is so low in the poll. As a Rider fan I wish nothing but the best for Willy, but he is going into a situation that will need time to rebuild. Collaros is on a team that was in the Grey Cup last year and has a very good contingent of receivers.

Collaros should have the better season as the team around him is more experienced. Willy will be successful ONLY if he gets protection. Also, Winnipeg is rebuilding and is a few years away from the GC. On a positive note - the only direction Winnipeg can go is up. ( Lets all hope that ALL the teams are competitive this year).
