Anyone notice that the Eastern teams have far more active rookies than the western teams in general? There has been talk that the east is not as good as the west. Larger # of rookies still learning the ropes and gaining experience might be a contributing factor. I suppose a case could be made for a couple of players like Heenan (unheralded lineman!)or Westerman, but Matthews does tend to stand out for his efforts on a struggling team.

Excellent guess, als rule. The Bombers have not had a good season (that statement is probably eligible for some prize for understatement), but you would never know that by looking at Chris Matthews' stats. You need to look at his contributions to the games and team to get the whole picture. I vote Chris Matthews.
