TORONTO -- One of the big questions heading in to Sunday’s E-Camp testing was whether or not Jamall Lee’s record time of 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash would hold up.

4.31 seconds after Steven Turner lined up we had our answer. The Bishop's University speedster blew away the field on Sunday with a blistering run to crack his former teammate’s mark.

Running in the second group the Gaiter's wide receiver, who also narrowly missed out on cracking Lee’s record in the vertical leap, was determined to beat his good friend this time around. He made it look easy, flying down the field and shaving eight one-hundredths off of Lee's time.

The new record capped an impressive camp for Turner who also posted the top shuttle time of the day at 4.03 seconds. He led the wide receivers in every testing category this weekend and finished either first or tied for first overall in the 40-, the shuttle, the vertical leap and the standing broad jump.

Turner’s Sunday times held up through the rest of the participants despite a late challenge from Laurier DB Taurean Allen who posted the second fastest times of the day in both the shuttle and the 40. Allen ran a 4.44 second 40-yard dash and a 4.04 second shuttle in the final group of the day to lead all defensive backs.

Cory Greenwood of Concordia also continued his strong camp on Sunday by posting a 4.50 second 40 to lead the linebackers. Greenwood also led the linebackers in the vertical and standing broad jumps tested on Saturday. Christian Houle of Montreal had the top Shuttle amongst the LBs at 4.13 seconds.

A pair of Canada West running backs, Gabriel Ephard of SFU and Anthony Woodson of Calgary, tied for the fastest 40 amongst the ball carriers at 4.53 seconds. Woodson also had the top shuttle of the group at 4.20 seconds.

Earlier in the morning, the Offensive and Defensive linemen had their turn in the 40- and the shuttle with Wilfrid Laurier’s Chima Ihekwoaba clocking the top times with a 4.78 in the 40 and a 4.24 in the shuttle.

Guelph’s Ryan Bomben was the quickest of the big men on the offensive side of the ball clocking a 5.07 in the 40 with splits of 1.67 seconds and 2.91 seconds at the 10- and 20-yard marks. McMaster’s Justin Glover was the fastest O-lineman in the shuttle at 4.59 seconds.

All three quarterbacks invited to the camp also posted respectable times in the 40- with Danny Brannagan and Justin Dunk each clocking a 4.75 second time and Erik Glavic just behind at 4.78.

With the impressive performances from a deep draft class at this year’s E-Camp, teams will certainly have a hard time deciding on picks heading in to the May 2nd Canadian Draft.
