EDMONTON (CFL.ca wire) -- The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent non-import running back Pierre-Luc Yao, the club announced on Thursday.

Yao played five seasons at Laval, winning three Vanier Cups in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Last season he played in seven games, rushing 75 times for 466 yards and seven touchdowns and added 12 receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns.

Yao was a participant in the 2007 CFL Evaluation Camp, and was not chosen in the subsequent CFL Canadian Draft.

The Eskimos also announced that import wide receiver Quentin McCord has been released.
