The write stuff

Meet our bloggers: Justin Amoah and Brad Smith.

One is a defensive back, the other is a receiver.

One is a product of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the other is from the Canadian Interuniversity Sport.

Justin Amoah, a defensive back from the Brown University Bears, and Brad Smith, a receiver from the Queen’s University Golden Gaels, have different football backgrounds, but together they will provide interesting perspectives to the 2006 Canadian Football League Draft with their own blogs.

Amoah, who last season had 29 total tackles, including 10 in one game, brings not only an athletic viewpoint to his blog, but a true writer’s insight. He is an English Major with an interest in sports writing. He has already had some experience working for the Brown campus newspaper and as a summer scholar for the Providence Journal.

As for Smith, he is best known (at least in his words) as the son of Montreal Alouettes’ president Larry Smith. Besides that impressive lineage, he also has some impressive numbers. Last season he totaled 48 catches for 707 yards in the regular season and garnered a place on the CIS First-Team All-Star. It was the second career honour for the fourth-year Arts & Science Major, who was voted to the first all-star team in his rookie year in 2002.
