Dave Raimey was born on November 18, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he was the leading scorer for the team. Raimey began his pro football career with Cleveland of the N.F.L.
Raimey came to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1965 and played the running back position for four years. Raimey had incredible seasons in his first two years as a Bomber and became a member of the Winnipeg 1000 yard club in 1965 and 1966 with 1052 and 1223 yards respectively. In 1966 Raimey scored a 100 yard touchdown rushing and a 96 yard touchdown pass catching. He was an all-star in each of his four years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
In 1969 he was traded to the Toronto Argonauts where he played the defensive halfback position. Raimey was the team scoring leader in 1969 with 10 touchdowns for 60 yards and was the kickoff return leader in 1974 with 403 yards for a 28.8% average per return. This versatile performer picked off passes and ran for touchdown throughout his outstanding ten year CFL career.
