JC Sherritt – LB– Edmonton Eskimos

Edmonton Eskimos middle linebacker JC Sherritt was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player at the 2012 Gibson’s Finest Player Awards.

Sherritt, earns his first Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award following a record-setting season in Edmonton, as the linebacker racked up 130 tackles to break Calvin Tiggle’s all-time single-season mark.

Sherritt accomplished the feat in the final game of the regular season, needing 11 to beat Tiggle's 18-year-old mark. The 24-year-old also collected three sacks and racked up five interceptions, good enough for second most in the league.
