Hal Patterson is a three-time Grey Cup Champion (1963, 1965, 1967) as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Following a trade to Hamilton from Montreal in 1961, the charismatic Patterson lifted the Ticats from last place to perennial Grey Cup favourites. He was the team’s Most Outstanding Player in 1962 and tied for the league lead in receptions in 1960. Patterson sits third on the club’s list for receiving yards in a game (228 yards) on October 15, 1962 against Saskatchewan. Patterson was a three-time CFL All-Star (1962-64) and was won the Schenley award as the league’s Most Outstanding Player in 1956. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
