Harrison’s career began at linebacker, but quarterback Eagle Day noticed his good hands and had Harrison moved to tight end where he tied for the league lead in pass receptions in 1971 and led the Western Conference in the same category in 1969 and 1970. Arguably, Harrison’s best performance came on September 2, 1970 when he caught four touchdown passes against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Harrison was a three-time CFL All-Star (1968-70) and was Calgary’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player in 1968. Harrison won the Grey Cup with Calgary in 1971. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1993. All photos courtsey of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum.
