Contest Title: The CFL Fan Draft

This contest is sponsored by the Canadian Football League, the British Columbia Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouttes.  (the “Contest Sponsors”). The contest runs from 10:00 a.m. ET on April 23, 2013 to 11:59 p.m. ET on June 15, 2013 (the “Contest Closing Date”).

Eligibility

To enter and be eligible to win you must be a legal resident of Canada (excluding Quebec).  Employees of the Canadian Football League and its member teams and the immediate family members of, or those domiciled with, an employee of the Canadian Football League and its member teams, their agents and representatives, their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and dealers, advertising and promotional agencies, as well as suppliers of materials or services related to this contest, are not eligible to enter the contest. “Immediate family members” are defined as parents, siblings, children or spouse. To be eligible, entrant plus traveling companions must be able to travel legally in Canada. A travel companion under the age of majority in Canada must be the child or legal ward of the winner, and parent or legal guardian must sign and return any and all documentation.

To Enter

To enter, complete a purchase order for at least one CFL team 2013 preseason or regular season single game ticket through Ticketmaster.  Purchases may be made by phone or online. Each purchase confirmation will create an automatic contest entry.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: To enter without purchase, mail a 50 word maximum essay on “What would going to the 101 Grey Cup mean to you?” (the “Essay”) along with your full name, address (city & postal code), email and phone number to: CFL Fan Draft c/o Canadian Football League, 50 Wellington St, East, 3rd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M5E 1C8. Upon receipt of the Essay, an entry will be made based on the personal information provided with the Essay. Limit: One (1) entry per person. Essays must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. ET June 15th, 2013.

Only those entries that are randomly selected as ‘contest winners’ will be contacted. 

Prize(s)

There will be one (1) Grey Cup Trip for Two consisting of an invitation for the grand prize winner (the “Winner”) and one (1) guest to attend the 2013 Grey Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan (the “Event”) on November 24, 2013 (collectively, the “Grand Prize”). Specifically, the Grand Prize includes i) two (2) round trip economy class airline tickets departing from the closest major airport to the winner’s residence as determined by Sponsors and onward to Regina, Saskatchewan (the “Trip”); ii) Three (3) nights standard hotel accommodation (double occupancy); iii) two (2) tickets to the Event along with two (2) CFL/Grey Cup merchandise packages; and iv) ground transportation for two (2) between the hotel and the Event. Transportation from the airport to the hotel is not included. Approximate value of the Prize is $4,000.00 CAD. 

Other prizes to be won are: i) Six (6) ‘Phenomenal Seat Experiences’ which consist of an invitation for you and a guest to attend a regular season game of a CFL team including prime seat location and merchandise. Approximate prize value $400 per prize; ii) Six (6) Exclusive ‘On-Field Fan Tours’ of a CFL team regular season CFL game. Approximate value $400 per prize; iii) Six (6) ‘Under the Helmet Player Experiences’ consisting of an exclusive fan interaction with a CFL player and a pair of tickets to a respective CFL team regular season game. Approximate value of $400 per prize; iv) Six (6) CFL team Merchandise prize packages. Approximate value $200 per package;

Winner and his/her guest are responsible for any costs or expenses associated with any prizes, including the Grand Prize, not outlined above, including but not limited to ground transportation to and from the winner’s residence and departure airport, any additional ground transportation, taxes, travel and/or medical insurance, airport improvement fees, drinks, meals, gratuities and all incidental and personal expenses. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary on the times and dates required or the Grand Prize will be forfeited. All travel arrangements, accommodations, and other arrangements will be determined and arranged by Contest Sponsors in their sole discretion. Once the itinerary has been finalized between winner and Contest Sponsors, no changes can be made unless approved by Contest Sponsors. Winner will be required to use a credit card at hotel check-in to cover any and all incidentals not specified as included in the Grand Prize. Winner and guest will be required to follow all directions of Contest Sponsors and/or the Event organizers; failure to do so may result in termination of their participation, or continued participation, in the Grand Prize and/or Event. Winner and his/her guest are responsible for obtaining all required travel documentation including photo identification and must be free from any legal restrictions on their ability to travel or otherwise participate in the Trip.

In the event that the Winner is unable to redeem any or all of the prize components due to reasons beyond the control of the Contest Sponsors, their employees, representatives, agents and all parties associated with this Contest, no compensation or substitution prize will be provided.  All taxes on prizes other than taxes specifically referred to in these rules are the responsibility of the Winner.

Each prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution and is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

Draw

A random drawfor all prizes will be held by the Canadian Football League on June 21, 2013 at approximately 4 p.m. ET, from among eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The odds of being selected depend upon the total number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date.

General

By entering this contest, entrants accept and agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules & Regulations and the decisions of the contest sponsors with respect to all aspects of the contest, which are final, binding and conclusive on all matters relative to this contest.

An entrant selected pursuant to a random draw will be contacted by mail, courier or telephone within ten (10) business days of the draw date. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted within ten (10) business days, he/she will be disqualified and a new random draw from the remaining eligible entries will be conducted to select another entrant and the process noted above will be repeated until a selected entrant is contacted or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first.

Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone within fifteen (15) business days of the draw date. The selected entrant will also be required to sign and return within fifteen (15) business days, a Declaration and Release Form (the “Release Form”) confirming compliance with these Official Contest Rules & Regulations, acceptance of a prize as awarded without substitution, and releasing the Canadian Football League and its member teams, and their affiliated and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, the independent contest organization and their respective shareholders, governors, directors, officers, employees, agents, dealers, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the prizes, or this contest.

Failure to answer the mathematical skill-testing question correctly or failure to return the Release Form within the time period indicated on the Release Form will cause a new random draw from the remaining eligible entries to be conducted to select another entry and the process noted above will be repeated until a winner is declared or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first.

The Canadian Football League will deliver the prizing to the confirmed winner at the address indicated on the Release Form within ninety (90) days of being declared a winner.

By entering this contest, each prize winner authorizes the Contest Sponsors, and their representatives to use in any related publicity, if required, their name, photograph, image, any statements they may make regarding the prize, place of residence and/or voice for advertising purposes worldwide in perpetuity and in any form of media including the Internet, without any form of compensation.

All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsors. No responsibility will be taken for any failure of the website during the promotion for any reason or for any problems or technical malfunction of a network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, on-line, or internet entry on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to and resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.

The Contest Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion to cancel or suspend the Internet portion of this contest should a virus, bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Sponsors corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

The Contest Sponsors and their agents, representatives and assigns reserve the right to void any entry and/or cancel or modify the contest in whole or in part (without notice to entrants individually) if, in their sole discretion, they determine that for any reason the contest is not capable of running as originally planned due to fraud, technical failures, human, printing or distribution errors, or any causes or occurrences have compromised the administration, safety, fairness or integrity of the Contest.

Any person entering this Contest or trying to do so by any means which go against the intention of these Official Rules & Regulations and which would be unfair to the other participants will be automatically disqualified and the Contest Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.  In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these rules and has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant will be disqualified and all of the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified. Entries are subject to verification by Contest Sponsors or their agents, representatives or assigns.

All entries become the permanent property of the Contest Sponsors. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and is void where prohibited.

The Contest Sponsors assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, garbled, or unintelligible entry forms, entry forms which fail to comply with these Official Contest Rules & Regulations, or for theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entry forms. The Contest Sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information found on www.cfl.ca or submitted as part of an entry form, whether caused by website users, any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest, or any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in this contest.

When you enter this Contest, you will be asked to provide personal information including your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. The personal information that you provide will be used in the administration of this contest, including contacting you if you are a potential winner. If you are declared the winner and accept a prize you may be asked to provide a photo or other likeness of yourself and you will be required to provide Consent to list or announce you as the winner and to publish your likeness on television, the internet and other media.
