Alouettes add Claybrooks, Virgil and Dunn

MONTREAL (CFL.ca wire) — The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that veteran NFL defensive tackle Devone Claybrooks and rookie running back Morris Virgil have signed new contracts with the club and are expected at training camp.

Claybrooks played in the NFL from 2001 through 2005. He had stints with the Green Bay Packers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Falcons, the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals. Between 2002 and 2004, he made eight tackles in 13 games. He is 29.

Virgil played on offence, defence and special teams at Illinois between 2001 and 2005, starting as a running back before moving to defence in 2004. He totalled 111 tackles and two interceptions while gaining 334 yards and scoring four touchdowns on 49 career carries. He also returned 23 kickoffs for 487 yards. He is 23.

The organization has also announced that Harry Dunn will be back at training camp. The 23-year old offensive lineman from James Madison University attended camp with the Alouettes in 2006.
