Media Statement

Canadian Football League Acting Commissioner Gene Dunn addressed a news report concerning the Grey Cup and naming rights:

“The CFL regularly reviews the value of its assets and for many years has discussed the value of entitling the Grey Cup,” Canadian Football League Acting Commissioner Gene Dunn said today. “At this point, the League has not progressed beyond the discussion stage and will continue to monitor the growing value of entitling events. The Grey Cup will celebrate its 95th anniversary in Toronto on Nov. 25 at the Rogers Centre. The Cup was last played in Toronto in 1992 and its return to the city has generated tremendous interest across Canada.”
