HAMILTON — After trading out of the first round, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected University of Conneticut offensive lineman Moe Petrus with the 10th overall pick.

Petrus has another year of NCAA eligibility and will return to school next season.

The Ticats were back on the clock shortly after picking Petrus and selected Concordia offensive lineman Maurice Forbes with their second pick (13th overall).

Forbes participated in the 2011 CFL Evaluation Camp presented by Reebok and had a strong showing in the on-field testing.

The Ticats then had back-to-back picks in the third round at numbers 20 and 21 overall. They used the two picks on a pair of Laval teammates, defensive lineman Marc-Antoine Fortin and offensive lineman Pascal Baillargeon.

The Ticats also had two picks in the fifth round which they used on Howard linebacker Patrick Jean-Mary (33rd overall), and Weber State tight end Tyrell Francisco (36th overall.

The Tabbies concluded their draft by selecting linebacker Jadon Wagner out of Brigham Young University. Wagner is the younger brother of former Saskatchewan Roughrider Aaron Wagner.
