Stamps sign Steven Turner and Lyle Green

CALGARY — Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that non-import running backs Lyle Green and Steven Turner have signed with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
 
Green was a member of the BC Lions from 2001-09, playing in 161 consecutive games in that time. He played in two Grey Cups and helped the Lions win the 2006 Grey Cup title. Green had career-highs in rushing yards (343), carries (60) and touchdowns (three) in 2002. Green was chosen third overall in the 2001 CFL Draft by the Lions.
 
Turner is in his first CFL season. He was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round (30th overall) in 2010. He played four seasons with the Bishop’s Gaiters. Turner had 2,379 all-purpose yards in his CIS career and was twicenamed a Quebec University Football League all-star. In 2007, he set a CIS record with three majors on kickoff returns.
