HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have kept import offensive lineman Brian Simmons and import defensive back Bo Smith off the free agent market by signing them to contract extensions today. Both players are committed through the 2015 season.

In two seasons with the Ticats Simmons has excelled at left tackle, starting all 18 games last season after starting 10 during his rookie season in 2011.

The Oklahoma product originally signed with the Black and Gold on May 18, 2011 following a training camp stint with the New England Patriots in 2010.
Smith has suited up in 56 games over five seasons with the Ticats, accumulating 163 tackles and six interceptions.  The Weber State product made 24 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles and one interception in eight games last year.

Simmons and Smith join guard Peter Dyakowski, centre Marwan Hage and running back Daryl Stephenson as potential free agents who have signed extensions with the Ticats.
