EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announces the signing of free agent import defensive back Marcell Young.
“Marcell is a talented a defensive back that is starting to reach the peak of his career,” says Eskimo Head Coach Kavis Reed.
A two-year starter in Hamilton, Young battled injuries for a good part of last season, registering 15 tackles and one interception. In his rookie season with the Ticats in 2011, Young started all 18 games at defensive halfback, recording 49 defensive tackles and two interceptions.
