TORONTO — With the first overall pick in the 2013 CFL Draft, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected University of Calgary defensive lineman Linden Gaydosh.

The Peace River, Alberta native joins a revamped Tiger-Cats defence after an impressive 2012 season with the Dinos where he took home his second consecutive conference all-star nod.

Gaydosh impressed scouts in March at the 2013 CFL Combine, primarily in the one-on-one drills but also recorded the weekend’s second best total on the Bench Press with 36.
Combine Results:
40-Yard Dash: 5.221s
Bench Press: 36 reps (2nd best)
Broad Jump: 8’7.00″
Vertical Jump: 33.50″
3-Cone: 7.444s
Shuttle: 4.450s

“Gaydosh was the talk of the 2013 CFL Combine and the Ticats snag a player who should be a mainstay on the defensive front for years to come”, said CFL.ca columnist Justin Dunk.

CFL on TSN analyst Duane Forde added prior to the draft, “Gaydosh for me was the best player on the field on Sunday of the combine. He had the best combine of anybody. If rankings were based solely on the combine Linden Gaydosh would be the number one guy.

I thought Gaydosh was more dynamic and dominant than I expected. I think most people would say and know he’s a very good player, but I think he showed, relative to the rest of the defensive linemen group, even better than expected.”
