TORONTO — With 28 catches for 401 yards so far this season, Geroy Simon is now just one reception away from breaking Ben Cahoon’s all-time receptions mark.
His 100-yard game earlier this season was the 63rd of his career which puts him just one back of all-time leader Allen Pitts who had 64 from 1990 to 2000. Here is a brief breakdown of Geroy’s fabulous career with some interesting highlights:
His first catch came in his second career CFL game after being blanked in his debut on July 8, 1999. It came on July 22, 1999 for Winnipeg from Kerwin Bell and gained exactly zero yards. He caught 8 passes for 57 yards that day.
He has caught 998 passes from 17 different QBs across 15 seasons with the most coming from Dave Dickenson. The Dickenson-Simon connection accounts for 221 completions for 3,690 yards and 30 TDs.
