FA14: Ticats ink DB Brandon Stewart, LB Abraham Kromah

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have jumped into the free agent sweepstakes, signing veteran defensive back and former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Brandon Stewart and former Saskatchewan Roughriders LB Abraham Kromah.

Stewart, a 6-1, 203-pound native of Seattle, Washington, has spent the previous five seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after beginning his CFL career with a two-year stint in Calgary.

In 74 career regular season games, Stewart has recorded 134 defensive tackles, 44 special teams tackles and eight interceptions.  He started all 18 games for the Bombers last season, making a career-high 47 tackles while adding 16 special teams tackles and one interception.

Kromah, a 6-0, 227-pound native of Staten Island, New York, registered 39 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, one quarterback sack and two tackles for losses in nine games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders over the last two seasons.  

During his four-year collegiate career at Duke, Kromah made 182 defensive tackles and 16 tackles for a loss.
