EDMONTON — New Eskimos head coach Chris Jones continued to revamp his roster on Tuesday, as the team announced the release of veteran linebacker TJ Hill.

Hill originally signed as a free agent on July 21, 2009.  In five seasons with the Green and Gold, he recorded 389 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles, six quarterback sacks and 11 interceptions.

“TJ Hill has been a first-class professional and a leader in the locker room. We wish him well in his future endeavours,” said Eskimos General Manager Ed Hervey via the team’s official Twitter account.

Last season saw Hill register a career high in tackles with 94. He also collected one sack and one interception. Prior to joining the Esks, Hill spent two seasons with the Alouettes.
