Aprile one of three inked by Tiger-Cats

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the signings of non-import receiver Johnny Aprile, import linebacker David Caldwell and import defensive end Joseph LeBeau.

Aprile, a 6-3, 220-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, caught 120 passes for 2,155 receiving yards yards and 15 touchdowns over four seasons at Queen’s, earning first-team OUA all-star status in 2012.

Aprile was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the 16th overall pick in the 2012 CFL Draft before being acquired by the Ticats in a January 28 trade.  
Caldwell, a 5-11, 212-pound native of Montclair, New Jersey, played four seasons at William and Mary, making 280 tackles and four interceptions with the Tribe before NFL stints with the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants.  In 2011, Caldwell started 13 of the 16 games he appeared in with the Colts.  

LeBeau, a 6-0, 245-pound native of New Orleans, Louisiana, spent time with the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars last year after wrapping up his collegiate career at Jackson State.  In two seasons with the Tigers, LeBeau registered 147 tackles, 28 quarterback sacks and was named All-SWAC both years.
