VANCOUVER — Veteran defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell could be heading back to the BC Lions after one season with Toronto, according to reports.

According to TSN’s Farhan Lalji the Lions could be interested in bringing the hulking lineman back to Vancouver.

In March, Mitchell was released by the Argos after just one season of play with the Double Blue. It was reported that he had been considering options down south which may have led to his release.  Mitchell was acquired by the Boatmen in a trade with the Lions last April.

The 2013 season saw Mitchell appear in 16 games, registering 32 tackles and a team-best five sacks. He also collected one fumble recovery.

Prior to joining the Argos, Mitchell spent three seasons with the Lions, collecting 54 tackles and eight sacks.
