WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that they have released defensive back Cauchy Muamba.

Cauchy was originally drafted by the BC Lions in the 2010 CFL Draft out of St. Francis Xavier University. He spent three seasons in BC and began to establish himself as a hard hitting CFL safety.

After his best season in BC, Muamba hit the free agent market and decided to sign with the Bombers. The signing would put him on the same defence as his brother, Henoc, and would also see him collect 47 tackles and two interceptions.

It is the latest in a number of changes for Winnipeg this of-fseason as the new regime of head coach Mike O’Shea and general manager Kyle Walters continues to make changes in hopes that they can translate to further success in 2014.
