VANCOUVER — The BC Lions announced Thursday that veteran offensive lineman Patrick Kabongo has retired.
“Patrick was a big personality on and off the field and we are grateful to have had him part of our organization for two years,” said VP of football operationsand GM Wally Buono.
“We wish him and his family the very best in the future.”
Kabongo appeared in 33 regular season games and two more in the post-season for the Lions after joining the club during training camp in 2012.
He spent seven previous seasons in Edmonton appearing in 121 games for the Green and Gold earning a West Division All-Star nod in 2008.
The club also announced that defensive lineman Adrian Awasom has been released.
