HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have to try and exact their revenge on the Saskatchewan Roughriders without one of their most dangerous offensive weapons.

Sunday, the Ticats placed Canadian receiver Andy Fantuz on the one-game injured list, officially ruling him out for their Week 1 Grey Cup rematch with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Fantuz played in both of Hamilton’s pre-season games, registering a combined three catches for 42 yards. He was injured early in Hamilton’s second pre-season game against Toronto and did not return.

Also placed on the one-game injured list by the Ticats were linebackers Marcellus Bowman and Abraham Kromah, DB Michael Coe, QB Stephen McGee, RB Tavoy Moore, DT Terrence Moore, OL Joel Reinders and defensive ends Sam Scott and Brandon Thurmond.

The Tiger-Cats made their final cuts public just prior to the 10pm deadline on Saturday night, announcing on Twitter that five players have been released.

Headlining the group was DB Evan McCollough, who joined the Ticats prior to the 2013 season. In his one season with the Ticats, McCollough registered 43 tackles, and no interceptions, the first time in his career he failed to pick off one pass.

The Ticats also parted ways with DB Korey Lindsey, DB Demetrice Morley,  QB Corey Robinson, and OL D.J. Young.
