HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be without their starting pivot for some time longer, as Zach Collaros was placed on the club’s six-game injured list Monday.

Collaros, 25, has missed the last two games with injuries to his head and back, suffered in Hamilton’s Week 2 matchup with the Edmonton Eskimos.

In less than two games this season, his first with the Tiger-Cats, Collaros has completed 23 of 41 passes for 212 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He’s also carried the ball three times for 18 yards, and has a QB Rating of 58.2.

In his absence, the Ticats have turned to backups Dan LeFevour and Jeremiah Masoli to lead the charge under centre.  Masoli started the team’s first game without Collaros, but was pulled in the third quarter after completing just nine of his 20 passes for 107 yards and a pick.

LeFevour came in for mop-up duty, and looked solid, completing  82 per cent of his passes for 76 yards in a game Hamilton ultimately lost to Calgary. As a result, the Central Michigan product was handed the starting ball for their Week 5 tilt with the REDBLACKS, and looked stellar in his first career CFL start.

The 27-year-old Downers Grove, IL. native threw for 361 yards and a major, and also rushed for 109 yards and added another touchdown in a 33-23 win over Ottawa.
