TORONTO — The “Flyin’ Hawaiian” is back for the double blue after the Toronto Argonauts activated Chad Owens from the 6-game injured list for Week 9.

The Argos have seen their fair share of injuries this year as their receiving corps has been depleted with injuries to Jason Barnes, Andre Durie, Anthony Coombs, and Owens.

Owens was placed on the 6-game injured list after the Argos’ Week 3 matchup against the Calgary Stampeders when he suffered a mid-foot injury during a return against Calgary.

Now Owens returns to the lineup that welcomed back Barnes last week and seems to be getting healthier just in time for the second half of the season.

The Argos will travel to Edmonton to take on the 6-1 Eskimos for the first time this year and Owens will be a welcomed sight for Ricky Ray who hopes that Owens can continue his great start to the year, he had 339 receiving yards and 209 punt return yards along with 2 touchdowns in three games this year, as the Argos prepare for the Esks and look ahead to the Labour Day Classic against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on September 1.
