OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS saved their biggest splash for last.

After a busy off-season in the Nation’s Capital, the team announced on Tuesday that it’s added star-studded international receiver and returner Chris Williams.

Williams was arguably the CFL’s most dynamic playmaker for the two years he was in the league from 2011 to 2012, amassing 2,362 yards and 17 touchdowns on offence while breaking records on special teams.

The diminutive five-foot-nine, 155-pound burner was next to impossible to stop on punt returns, scoring five touchdowns on 1,117 yards in a career 2012 season.

The REDBLACKS were already busy this off-season, particularly on offence, adding established veteran receivers in Greg Ellingson, Brad Sinopoli, Maurice Price and Ernest Jackson. Williams arguably gives them the most explosive receiving corps in football.

Williams left the CFL in 2013 and spent the next two seasons in the NFL, featuring stints with the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears.

The team first announced the move exclusively to its season ticket holders on Tuesday morning, who then revealed the big signing:
