HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released nine-year veteran Peter Dyakowski, the team announced Thursday.
The 32-year-old started 13 of the 16 games he played in throughout 2016 on the Ticats’ O-line.
“We want to thank Peter for all of his contributions to the organization and our community,” said Kent Austin, vice president of football operations and head coach of the Tiger-Cats. “ He has been an integral part of our team for over a decade and we wish him well in his future endeavours.”
After a college career with the Louisiana State University Tigers, Dyakowski was originally selected in the second round (11th overall) by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2006 CFL Canadian Draft.
He started 15 games as a rookie in 2007 including nine starts, making his CFL debut vs. the Calgary Stampeders on June 30.
The Ticats’ Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2011 and an East Division All-Star in 2012, Dyakowski appeared in back-to-back Grey Cups with the Ticats in 2013 and 2014.
