REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Tuesday that national defensive lineman Eddie Steele has signed with the team.

Steele, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle, joins the Riders after spending the last four seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. Last season, the 28-year-old played 18 regular-season games, starting five, along with the Eastern Semi-Final and Eastern Final.

Through six CFL seasons, Steele has registered 108 defensive tackles and 13 quarterback sacks in 90 regular-season appearances. He won his first Grey Cup in 2015 as a member of the Eskimos.

He played his first two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after the team had selected him in the third round (22nd overall) of the 2010 CFL Draft.
