Argos release quarterback Logan Kilgore

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts continued to tinker with their roster Monday, releasing international QB Logan Kilgore, adding a pair on offence and a DB to their secondary.

Kilgore joined the Argonauts in 2015 and earned a spot behind Ricky Ray on the depth chart last season.  After winning his first game as a starter, Kilgore went on to lose his following contests and was pulled in a blowout loss to Edmonton.  He finished the season with 728 passing yards and 2 touchdowns on 63 of 114 passing.

The Argos also announced the signing of  WR Justin Brown, DB Brandon Harris and RB Cam McDaniel.

Brown, a 6-3, 209-pound native of Wilmington, Delaware, previously spent time in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. The versatile receiver and return man concluded his NCAA career at Oklahoma after spending three seasons at Penn State. In his lone season with the Sooners, he caught a career-high 73 passes for 879 yards and five touchdowns while adding 299 yards and a touchdown on 22 punt returns.

Harris, a 5-10, 191-pound native of Miami, Florida, had stints in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans, who selected him in the second round (60th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft. In 42 NFL games, he recorded 48 tackles and 10 pass breakups. The University of Miami product notched 133 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, four interceptions, two sacks and 28 passes breakups in three seasons with the Hurricanes.

McDaniel, a 5-10, 185-pound native of Coppell, Texas, played four seasons at Notre Dame, finishing his career with the 255 carries for 1,117 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 151 yards with the Irish. Following his time at ND, he attending rookie mini-camp with the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 before spending the 2016 season with the Montreal Alouettes.
