Riders add Bartlett in supplemental draft

Tusculusm College

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders selected linebacker Brandyn Bartlett in the supplemental draft Thursday at the cost of a 5th round pick.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound defender out of Tusculum College recorded 169 tackles over his 22-game career, in addition to five career forced fumbles — the ninth-most in program history.

A 23-year-old out of Vancouver, Wash., Bartlett proved his Canadian citizenship recently and was granted his national status.

With the selection, Saskatchewan forfeits its 5th round pick in the 2018 CFL Draft.

The move comes a year after the Riders picked Kevin Francis in the supplemental draft with their 3rd round pick.
