TORONTO — In partnership with Yare Media, the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced on Friday that an international livestream of the entire 2017 regular season will be made available. Fans in more than 130 territories outside of the TSN, RDS, ESPN and BT Sport footprint will be able to access this streaming service to follow regular season contests, playoff action, and the 105th Grey Cup presented by Shaw.
Fans will have the option to purchase packages that follow their favourite team, the entire league, or single games. To accommodate fans in many different time zones, each package includes differing levels of ON DEMAND access for games that are not live.
The streaming service will feature production and commentator teams from TSN, Canada’s Sports Leader. Games will be offered in a high-definition video platform that can be viewed on computers (Windows and Mac running industry-standard operating systems), iOS phones and tablets, and Android phones and tablets. The stream will seamlessly adapt to the various devices and networks across the globe and the video player will, among other things, permit for full screen mode; allow pause, rewind and fast forward functions; and provide the option to Chromecast or Airplay to a larger screen display.
Fans can access intl.cfl.ca to gain access to the platform and view pricing information.
The CFL season opens next week with four exciting matchups: the Saskatchewan Roughriders visit the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday June 22nd to open the season and face off against their former quarterback. A rematch of the 104th Grey Cup presented by Shaw takes place on Friday June 23rd when the Ottawa REDBLACKS and the Calgary Stampeders square off. Saturday, June 24th brings a Western brawl when the BC Lions host the Edmonton Eskimos, and Week 1 wraps up with another exciting regional rivalry between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday June 25th at BMO Field in Toronto.
Fans can watch all these games and more on the CFL’s new international livestream.
