With Ottawa playing twice in Week 5, REDBLACKS players are going to be multiplied 1.5 their usual value, making each player tempting yet expensive for Fantasy owners. The biggest puzzle to piece together will be how Ottawa uses the running back duo of Mossis Madu and William Powell, as both should see extensive action with two games a mere five days apart.
Madu ranks as the highest-salaried back this week at $11,334 despite being inactive for last week’s loss at Edmonton. Powell ($8,961) is third and put up 14.6 Fantasy points in his first game back after missing the previous two with an ankle injury. A good guess would be that one will start Wednesday’s game against Montreal, with the other getting the nod on Monday against Toronto, a decision that may not be known until just before kickoff against the Alouettes.

Depending on the results of an MRI on Monday, the status of BC’s pivot situation could be altered. Jonathon Jennings ($10,211) says his shoulder is fine after sustaining an injury on the first play from scrimmage in last Saturday’s win over Hamilton. However, the chances of Travis Lulay getting the start against Winnipeg remain strong, especially after Lulay ($4,295) set a league record with 436 passing yards off the bench, while adding three passing majors and a rushing score.
While REDBLACKS receivers Greg Ellingson ($9,397) and Diontae Spencer ($9,015) rank 1-2 among receivers, the bargains outside of the top 10 salaries are strong. Kamar Jorden ($5,948) is 14th in salary and while he didn’t score for the first time last week, the Stampeders’ playmaker is a strong option against Saskatchewan. Anthony Coombs of Toronto ranks among the top 10 receivers with 20 catches and is an interesting play against Ottawa at $2,500.
Despite a salary ranked fourth at $4,838, most Fantasy owners are realizing the lack of value in the Hamilton defence, which has been torched for 110 points in their three losses. Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly ($13,558) borders on must-start status considering the Tiger-Cats have allowed a staggering 440.6 passing yards per game thus far.
