TORONTO — Two of the CFL’s hottest teams go head to head in this week’s Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have turned their season around since struggling to start 2017. They’ve won four of their last five contests and have arguably one of the best receiving corps in the league made up of Naaman Roosevelt, Bakari Grant and Duron Carter.
On the other hand, the Calgary Stampeders are riding an impressive eight-game winning streak. Offence, defence and special teams are firing on all cylinders for the Stamps as they sit first in the West Division with a five-point lead over the Bombers. It’s been Roy Finch on returns that has been a spark for Calgary – he’s leading the league in return yards (1,009) and has three punt return touchdowns so far this season.
Kevin Glenn will be back to work this week after missing Week 13 with a hand injury and he’ll have the Stampeders defence to face – a defence that has surrendered a league-low 222 points. Calgary’s secondary will have their hands full with the Riders receivers that are leading the league in passing touchdowns (27) – Carter has eight and Roosevelt has seven majors in 11 games.
Calgary has a high-powered offence of their own, however, as the team leads the league in total points (389) and boasts an offensive line that has allowed a league-low 14 sacks on quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell.
