Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup: Playoff implications for Argos, Riders

The Canadian Press

TORONTO — This week’s Marquee Matchup features a two teams that have a lot on the line when it comes to playoffs as we head into the final stretch of the season.

With a win, the Argos can clinch a playoff berth and a home playoff date. A win, coupled with an Ottawa loss, and Toronto will punch their ticket to the East Final.

A win for the Riders helps the squad in the close race in the West Division where three teams are separated by just two points.

Saskatchewan’s red-hot offence has cooled off over the last few weeks but they’ll be ready to get back on track this week in Toronto. Trent Richardson will make his CFL debut this week for the Roughriders and will hope that he can get things rolling on the ground.

Ricky Ray and the Argos have made use of their own ground game as James Wilder Jr. made an impact over the last few weeks. It’ll be a challenge for Saskatchewan’s defence to contain the running back, as well as the aerial attack from S.J. Green, Armanti Edwards and DeVier Posey.

In this week’s CFL.ca Pick ‘Em Marquee Matchup, we’ll see which team can come out on top. Who are you taking?

The fans are siding with the Roughriders to take this one.

They could be correct, especially since Kevin Glenn and his offence have shown that they can find the end zone and the Riders defence has been one of the best in the league over the past few weeks.
