Maurice Leggett suffers season-ending injury

The Canadian Press

WINNIPEG — Maurice Leggett will miss the rest of the 2017 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon late in Saturday’s contest against the BC Lions, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Sunday.

Leggett was having an excellent year for the Bombers in his fourth season with the club. He suited up in 13 games and had collected 50 defensive tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, one touchdown and three forced fumbles.

The Blue Bombers clinched a playoff spot on Saturday and will have to make their run in the post-season without the 31-year-old defensive back.
