REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought back a familiar face, announcing Monday they’ve signed national receiver Chris Getzlaf.

Getzlaf, 34, spent eight seasons in green and white before departing in 2016, landing a deal with the rival Edmonton Eskimos. In 11 CFL seasons, the Regina native has 6,192 yards to his name along with 41 touchdowns.

After playing for the Regina Rams, Getzlaf was picked in the fifth round, 33rd overall, by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2007. He then joined the Riders in 2008, winning the Grey Cup in 2013 while twice being named a West Division All-Star (2012 and 2013).

The Riders take on the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night in their second visit to McMahon Stadium this season.
