Grey Cup visits Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton

CANTON — The Grey Cup and the Lombardi Trophy once again were next to one another, celebrating the best of the best in pro football.

The Grey Cup will be temporarily on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and on Wednesday was photographed next to the bust of champion and hall member QB Warren Moon.

 

A press release issued by the Hall says that patrons can come by and take their photo with the cup on Wednesday:

“The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Mission includes celebrating excellence EVERYWHERE and is inviting sports fans to see the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup Championship Trophy. Fans can view the iconic trophy on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hall of Fame.

“The viewing and photo op with the Grey Cup is included with the price of Museum admission. Fans interested in visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday to see the Grey Cup can go to www.profootballhof.com/visit/ to plan their trip to “The Most Inspiring Place on Earth!”

“Gold Jacket Warren Moon led the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League to five consecutive Grey Cup victories from 1978-1982. He also won the offensive Grey Cup Most Valuable Player award in 1980 and 1982. After six seasons in the CFL, Moon moved to the NFL in 1984 signing with the Houston Oilers. He spent 17 seasons in the NFL before retiring from professional football after the 2000 season. Moon was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.”
