Gable out, Perkins in; Hazelton returns for Edmonton

The Canadian Press

EDMONTON — It’ll be LaDarius Perkins in the backfield for the Edmonton Eskimos this week instead of recently acquired C.J. Gable, who has been placed on the one-game injured list.

Gable rushed for 215 yards in his first two games in green and gold while also scoring three touchdowns. Since the versatile back was traded to the club a few weeks ago, the Esks have been on a two-game winning streak and in turn snapped their six-game losing skid.

In seven games this season, Perkins has rushed for 319 yards and a touchdown while also catching 140 yards on 19 receptions and a major score.

Vidal Hazelton will make his return this week for the first time since Week 9 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In eight games this season, Hazelton has caught 42 passes for 560 yards and four touchdowns.

Edmonton visits the BC Lions this week as they look to keep a hold on third place in the West Division.
