Status Report: Who’s in and who’s out for Sunday’s Semis?

TORONTO — Who’s on the injured list? What final adjustments are being made before the biggest game of the season? CFL.ca delivers all the last-minute roster moves ahead of Sunday’s Division Semi-Finals.

The most notable centres around the Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols who is listed as the starter for Sunday.

Here is how the rest of each team’s roster breaks down:

EASTERN SEMI-FINAL: Saskatchewan at Ottawa

  • Kienan LaFrance and Marcus Thigpen are listed at running back with Trent Richardson and Cameron Marshall remaining on the injured list. Recently-signed Shakir Bell will also not dress.
  • Out is all-star OG Brendon LaBatte, as Derek Dennis moves over to the left guard position.
  • LaBatte’s absence puts former first overall pick Josiah St. John on the roster.
  • Receiver Namaan Roosevelt is also back in the starting lineup.
  • Samuel Eguavoen is back on the roster and will back up Jeff Knox Jr. at WILL linebacker.
  • National receiver Chris Getzlaf is on the roster
  • Marc-Olivier Brouillette will not play after being moved to the one-game injured list

 

  • Defensive back Adrian James moves over to SAM linebacker for the REDBLACKS while Nicholas Taylor returns to halfback.
  • With the shuffle, Rookie defensive back Winston Rose is off the roster this week for Ottawa.
  • Receiver Josh Stangby draws back into the lineup, backing up Diontae Spencer at wideout and receiver.
  • SirVincent Rogers returns to play tackle on the O-line, while Jon Gott goes back to centre and rookie Evan Johnson to guard.

 


 WESTERN SEMI-FINAL: Edmonton at Winnipeg

  • Receiver Duke Williams and fullback Alex Dupuis are back on the roster after being down last week.
  • Rookie linebacker and special teams cover man Chris Mulumba-Tshimanga is off the Eskimos’ roster.
  • With Williams back in, international receiver Bryant Mitchell will not dress in the Esks’ offence.

  • The most notable move here is the announcement of Matt Nichols as the starting quarterback
  • Receiver Ryan Lankford draws back into the lineup and so too does LB Jesse Briggs.
  • Last year’s first overall pick Faith Ekakatie also draws out of the lineup, with Cory Johnson, Drake Nevis and Jake Thomas making up the rotation at defensive tackle.
  • Running back Timothy Flanders is listed on the 46-man roster despite leaving practice Friday with an injury.
  • While the Bombers hoped Jamaal Westerman might be back for the playoffs, the star defensive end will not play this week.
  • Leading receiver Darvin Adams is also not listed on the Bombers’ roster.
