Glenn, Bridge both take first-half snaps for Riders

The Canadian Press

TORONTO — The Saskatchewan Roughriders used both Kevin Glenn and backup Brandon Bridge under centre during the first half of the Eastern Final.

The veteran Glenn was pulled early in the second quarter after completing six of 11 passes for 87 yards and throwing an interception — a Terrance Plummer pick-six — to start the afternoon.

Bridge proved ineffective in relief, throwing two incompletions and taking a heavy sack from Toronto’s Shawn Lemon en route to a pair of two-and-outs.

Glenn then re-entered the game only to be picked off on the opening play of back-to-back drives — the first by Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, the second by Cassius Vaughan.

Brandon Bridge finished the half with an incompletion.

Trailing 17-3 at the break, Saskatchewan managed just 117 yards of first-half offence and a single field goal; Glenn’s line read 6-for-13, 87 yards, three interceptions, while Bridge’s sat at 0-for-3.

More to come.
