CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders announced Thursday that the contract of defensive backs coach Kahlil Carter will not be renewed when it expires on Dec. 31.

Carter has been a member of the Stampeders coaching staff for three seasons.

“I felt it was in the best interests of the team to go in a different direction with that position on our staff,” said head coach Dave Dickenson. “I thank Kahlil for all he has done for the team during his time in Calgary and wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Before joining the coaching ranks, Carter was a defensive back with the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes from 2005 until 2008.
