I don’t know about you but I’m completely in the Christmas spirit.
I’ve been wearing Christmas sweaters around CFL HQ as much as I can since late November (my coworkers can confirm this) and I’m constantly listening to Christmas music. Like, all the time.
I was listening to the 12 Days of the Christmas and I thought, “why is this true love giving so many birds?” Seriously. Go back and listen to the song and see how many of the days are birds. Geese, partridges, swans, calling birds, French hens, turtle doves… SO MANY BIRDS.
So, I decided to rewrite the 12 Days of Christmas to be 12 Days of a CFL Christmas with a few things that the CFL gave to us over the 2017 season. AND NO BIRDS.. well, except for that one time birds swarmed Percival Molson earlier this year… but other than that, no birds!
Enjoy!

This year’s pick-six marked the fourth different way that Carter has scored over his career to go along with multiple receiving touchdowns, a fumble recovery major (with Montreal) and a missed field goal TD (with Montreal).
Talk about clutch.
Because I had to include at least one Roughrider celebration..
Those eight defensive TDs were the league lead, by the way.
Johnson scored nine rushing touchdowns in 2017 which means we got to see the Johnson TD dance, you guessed it, nine times.
The time it took to search through film for dudes jumping over other dudes was so worth this video.
That’s three from Roy Finch, two from Christion Jones, two from Tune Adeleke, one from Dionate Spencer, two from Martese Jackson, one from Kevin Fogg and one from Brandon Banks.
Bonus: There was actually 13 but Mo Leggett’s punt return TD doesn’t technically qualify for the CFL lead because he doesn’t fit in the 20 punt return minimum so for the sake of the song he gets to be the bonus score.
